Web 2.0 tool i will use most in the future

I was very unfamiliar with all the web 2.0 tools we have used through out the semester.  As, the semester progress I started to become familiar with the web 2.0 tools and how I would implement them in the future.  They all have educational use in my future teaching, but the one tool I would use the most frequent is Google forms.  This web 2.0 tool is extremely helpful when trying to get to know your students.  This easy to use survey is a good tool to use with middle school and above.  Just for the fact that sometime students are shy and do not really show who they are and what they like.  The Google form gives me "the teacher" a chance to dig and get that information.  I can take a different approach and have my students get in groups of two.  I would pair students that clearly do not know each other.  Each student will make a questionnaire about anything (school appropriate they want to know about their partner).  Then write a short paragraph of what they learned about their partner.  Just a fun way too make a new friend. https://drive.google.com

My Feelings

I feel as though I am learning the most I have ever learned in the 3 years that I have been at Prairie View.  There is some much to know when becoming an educator.  You have to be ready for any situation that comes your way.  I am ready to start my new journey of being an educator.  I believe that every one should invest their time and money and go too college.  It has changed my life in so many positive ways and I am sure it will impact yours in great ways as well.  http://www.pvamu.edu/pages/2564.asp

  

Content Exam

The content exam is 125 question full of English language arts,math,social studies, science and health/fine arts question.  since I am a Generalist EC-6 major I need to know all the above topics.  The information on the test is everything I learned all though out elementary and middle school, so you would think I would be a pro  at it.  Not exactly I really did not take social studies and math seriously back then. Therefore, all the information I learned really just went through one ear and out the other.  only the information I thought was interesting I kept. I wish I would of known that I really needed this information because I wouldn't have such a hard time re learning all this information.  Studying on certify teacher really held reteaching me all this information because i made a 92% on my practice content exam.

Torn in between the two

Of course school is always going to come first, but lately my job has got into the way of my school work.  I have been in college of the past 3 1/2 years and it seems as though this semester has really taken a toll on me.  Homework is becoming an everyday thing and work is becoming the same.  I guess its time to make the adult decision and cut back my hours or just leave.  This is my first time working and going too school so maybe I am just over reacting a little.  Although technically I could manager working and going to school I guess I choose school.  I was working a evening shift which is the time I seem to be the most focus to do my work.  That is actually really why the whole working and going to school did not work.  I am coming to realize that I have to come out of my shell and learn how to work during the day when I am free.

The college of education requires us to log on certify teacher to practice for our state exams.  Yes exams there is more than one!  Anyway I myself has made it my goal to pass the content exam before this semester was over.  studying long hours at the crack of dawn must have really paid off because I passed with a 298!  Next step passing the real content exam.  I feel as though I can do it but I already know I am going to over think a lot because its the real test. I hope I get over this soon because I would love to be a certified teacher before I graduate.

overcoming

There has been many things this week that has got in my way of becoming successful.  I have had many obstacles to overcome that I admit I let them get the best of me.  When you face problems that get in the way with your school work it is best that you leave them alone.  I have greater accomplishments to be accomplished than to worry about the little things that do not matter at all.  I came to college to to get a degree and I will not give up until I receive one.  I am learning that now.  I have came to far in my college career to let anything or anyone get in my way.  I am now taking the road less traveled. inspirational quotes
